Mostly a Toy
This is a sort of functional telescope! It does come with a nice wood storage box that will hold the telescope in its provided soft case. The box is of soft wood and a natural light color. For the grins of it, I stained my box with a walnut shade of stain. As to the telescope function, I have an applied technical engineering background and am quite familiar with instrumentation. I found that the "telescope" had a natural focal distance of about 150 to 175 feet. I could not focus anything at any other distance, not matter how I adjusted the tube length. The field of view is quite narrow. At the 150 focus distance, the field of view was just wide enough to include the back of a pickup truck! One does need to be careful of how close the telescope is held to the eye. Your eye needs to be a centimeter or two from the eyepiece. Closer than that, things don't work so well. This is not a practical telescope, but for the price it makes a nice display item and overall, is built well.

An AWESOME and strong telescope!
Honestly, I was expecting something relatively cheap that a preteen or young teen would enjoy. But I was very pleasantly surprised not only by it's quality, but it's strong magnifying ability! This arrived packaged nicely in a PU leather case, which itself was inside a wooden box. The PU leather case looked and felt cheap, which lowered my expectations. But, after removing it from the case and opening it up and examining it, I was extremely pleased and surprised. And after reading the directions on how to operate and focus it (yes, you really should read the instructions and yes, they WERE helpful) I was even more blown away by it! The telescope itself looked and felt expensive, way more expensive than the meager price it's listed for. The extension of the sections was nice and smooth, without hitches or unpleasant scrape of cheap metal. The first look through it blew me away! The crisp, clear, and close up look at the home about 100 yards away was spectacular! The fine details that were visible was just astounding! This is obviously NOT some kids toy. This is a fully functional and well made telescope that could easily be used for bird watching, sporting events, and much much more.Like I said, the only real "disappointment" was with the PU leather case. IF that were replaced with even a velvet bag or something similar it would elevate the whole package, and not just the telescope, to SPECTACULAR!I would absolutely and without a doubt order this again and would definitely recommend this to others. This is truly a gem.A+++++

Lightweight and portable
This telescope is a fascinating and fun tool for our cruise ship trip. It is also a great tool option for watching games, hiking, and hunting. Its lightweight and portable design make it easy to carry on all my adventures, and the high-powered zoom delivers impressive magnification. The brass construction not only adds a touch of vintage charm but also ensures durability and great material quality. The telescope is waterproof, enhancing its suitability for outdoor activities. However, one thing that needs to improve is adjusting the telescope to achieve a clear image can be challenging at first. I took a little while to figure out how to manage this telescope. It requires some practice and patience to get used to the focusing mechanism. Once mastered, it provides a rewarding viewing experience. Other than this, the overall performance and portability make it a valuable tool for us.
