Having sampled nearly all of the Peak and Mountain House meals, this is by far the best. Lots of delicious beef, a mild and cheesy marinara sauce, and tender pasta. The directions call for exactly one cup of water; but I withhold about an eighth of a cup so as to avoid a soupy mess. Also, I let it reconstitute for about 30 minutes with thorough stirring. The result is truly outstanding! Lots of protein and absolutely delicious.

Sorry, but, a softer creamy sort of texture was what I expected, with a meaty taste.

Very impressed with this freeze-dried meal option for backpacking. Tasty, filling, and not too salty like some other brands. I chose the beef pasta marinara and brought it on a multi-day backcountry trip. Give it a try for your next adventure!

I was a diehard MH fan for years. Then I planned a week long canoe trip into the Boundary Waters and decided to mix things up and try something new. I’ll never go back!Better tasting, more protein and calories.

I decided to try this brand and their Beef Pasta Marinara. I added the boiling water and waited and stirred per their directions. Tasted it at 10 mins....still crunchy. Waited another 10 mins...no longer crunchy. The favor was not good and super greasy. I couldn't stomach it. I guess I could if in an emergency. I should have bought 1 pack and not 6. I will try to send back the other 5 back if possible. I'm familiar with other brands and wanted to try a different one. I rarely leave a review. Bottom line, buy 1 pack and try it first before throwing down a lot cash for multiple packs. This is only my opinion..other may feel differently and that is cool.

These are awesome! Great flavor & easy to make. I'll be purchasing more for the emergency back up. All their flavors are awesome by the way.
