I ordered this two days before thanksgiving so I wasn’t sure how well it would work for our 13 lb turkey and charcoal smoker. It worked perfectly!To get it in the turkey, we put it in the neck side down and the stand’s arms were a little too wide so one easy snip of the cartilage in the neck area with scissors opened it up enough to fit down in. The turkey stood surprisingly well and didn’t fall over or even lean. Then we put our elastic trusses on to hold the legs.It has a drip pan and I also sat it inside a cheap foil pie tin to catch more of the drippings.It’s very solid and was simple to lift out of the smoker. I had to be careful using just my hands and plastic gloves, only because the smoker was hot I think we’re going to smoke turkey more often, so next time I think I’ll use a wire hanger with a hook end to slip down inside the turkey and grab this rack to help lift it out. Then I can use my other hand to just help keep it straight as I lift. That’s one of the advantages of standing it neck down, you have the entire bottom of the turkey wide open and you can see the rack arms inside the turkey.Ours was a 13lb turkey. When smoking a turkey you really shouldn’t do larger than that for food safety reasons since smokers cook slowly. You need to get internal meat temps up before the meat sits too long and a larger turkey would take too long to smoke even at 250.P.S. A 13lb turkey at exactly five hours at 250 was the magic number. We also injected it before and put a rub on. It was the moistest turkey I’ve ever had. Such a success!

The roaster works well. It holds a beer can in the center if you want to do the beer can thing. If you don't, it still holds the bird in a good position related to the fire. Only drawback is the pan catching the juices can get very full and you need to either pour some of the juice off, or put the whole thing inside a shallow pan. But overall,bit it a good value.

Loved this. Great value for the price. I was able to make a perfect roasted chicken, moist inside and crispy on the outside. Even with a large 8 pound chicken it held up great. Cleaning was a breeze

Bought them for kosher Cornish hens I got at Costco Which are the size of the roasted Chickens you get at SAM’s club. Lol. I also bought “regular” Cornish hens at Walmart which were about the size of my hand. They will NOT fit those I’ll bitty birds. I sprayed mine with cooking spray to ensure nothing stuck to them seeing that I like mine well done. They came out beautifully golden brown and juicy! I also used no beer! I mounted my birds and put them in bags . They came out super juicy too

Great little stand but not for thanksgiving turkeys over 10 lbs. It did work but had to be creative with setup. Would recommend if not cooking larger bird. Albany, NY

Nice product. I have only used it once, but worked very well. very juicy chicken. Not the sturdiest of material, but good for the money. It has a very small drip pan, so you definitely want a larger pan to sit it in to catch extra drippings.

I have used it three times now, cooking the chicken in my barbecue. The drip tray is useful making it easy to baste the chicken. when done you can carve the chicken right on the rack. Make sure you are done with everything before trying to remove the can.
