So, this is a generic Chinese made step drill bit set. It comes in an aluminum box that has plastic corners and is ill fitted (as a box, but the foam inserts fit the drill bits fine). 1 star off for the quality of the box.Other than that the bits fit nicely in my Jet drill press and were very smooth through wood. I have not had a chance to check this set through metal yet, but they should drill through sheet metal. The step worked well to provide a counter sink in the thin material, or could be used in combination with a conventional bit to provide a counter sink in thicker material. The shanks range from 1/2 to 3/8 in so it should fit in most hand drills, also pretty much any drill press is not going to have an issue. Over all the bits are well made for my purposes as I am a hobbiest and would not put professional strain on this. The way I see it though, step drills are notoriously hard to sharpen anyway, so why dump alot of money on this, for non-routine use.Overall this is a great set.

These are a great inexpensive set of step drill bits. You never know when you might need one and they are truly life saver for when you need one and you happen to have them! A must have for any toolbox.I dont like that they have not ncluded a long bit that doesn't have many steps. These are for holes that need to drill a hole in something that is thicker that the increment between steps on the other bits. I've run into situations before where even though I had multiple step bits, I still had to go out and buy one exact size drill bit because if I was to keep using the steel bits I did have, in order to get the hole the minimum diameter through the bottom of the hole, the top of the hole might be 1, 3 or even 3 steps larger and that's not exactly something you want to happen.Another downside that I've noticed so far is the case seems almost like an afterthought to these bits because the largest bit does not fit in the foam well at all. They should have made the case just a bit taller and wider and incorporate some more foam in order to accommodate all the bits accordingly to ensure to don't fall out as soon as you open the case or bounce around inside.But having a case is better than no case at all.So in all these might very well suffice for what you need, but they are not the have all end all for step bits as there are still a few styles that you'd need in order to have a complete set.

All it took was single use. Two holes drilled in 1mm thick metal plate and a bit gets as dull as butter knife. Cheapest materials used. Nothing even close to titanium. Beware buyers!

It arrived within regular shipping time the case that they come in is a little janky but it's better than nothing as for the bits durability and performance tip seems to be a little dull but once it initially makes the whole it continues to widen the way it's supposed to. I have not broken any of these but I do not use it very often and when I do it's usually on aluminum
