Xochitl Asada Verde Salsa, Medium,15 oz (2 Pack)

Very tasty but expensive!

Anyone who has made their own rajas before (a basic component of many regional Mexican dishes, comprised of strips of roasted poblano chilis, white onions, garlic tossed with oregano) will love this salsa, which combines the rajas ingredients with some roasted, peeled, and diced Nopales (cactus paddles). Given the scores of jars of stereotypical red salsa in your average grocery, none of which bear any resemblance to a basic pico de gallo salsa anyone can whip up in 10 minutes with fresh ingredients and a sharp knife, it's refreshing to find a jar of prepared green salsa that's worth a damn. This is worth much more than a damn, actually. In fact, I doubt I'll bother making basic green salsa from scratch again, and save my fingers for other challenges (like mango salsa with habaneros, green onions, brown sugar, rum, and vinegar).

This is my absolute favorite salsa for burritos and tortilla chips. It has a tiny bit of heat (very similar heat to the Mild version though) and is thicker than most salsa verdes. My only gripe is the cost. It’s far too expensive to buy on a regular basis.

Nice fresh flavor for a jarred Salsa! Perfect medium spice level.
