Excellent at keeping out light - I have now bought two packs of these curtains to keep out the light in my bedroom and my children's bedroom and they are really effective. They seem to have some thermal properties (i.e. keeping out cold/ in heat) although not so noticeable but then that is not what I was looking for.I attached them easily although not using the draw strings as my curtains have those sharp bits that then hook on to rings.My only complaint would be that they are not washable.

Works like a charm. I have sheer white curtains and these silver-backed blackout curtain linings do exactly what it says.My only gripe is with the amount of hooks provided not being enough. My curtains are not wavy, they hang straightened like a panel (as I have a picture displayed across each curtain that forms one whole picture) so I didn't require much ruching except to get the width to match my white curtains. Therefore, the 10 hooks per curtain weren't enough (I actually used 13 on each as I ordered 2 packs of blackouts to work with my 3 curtain panels and that was still not enough. I understand that I may be the exception so I wouldn't rate this lower based on that.

I am very glad I look the plunge and bought these, what a difference they make! The only problem with them is that I can no longer rely on the sun to wake me up as they completely darken my bedroom now despite the glaring street lights outside. They also kept the room cool in the hot summer we just had.I found them easy to fit to my existing curtains - a bit of planning and they can be up in half an hour.If you are being kept awake by unwanted light at night, buy these curtains. You won't regret it.

Hung them today and they seem to do the job. As in the other review I thought no hooks, but as I went to throw away the plastic packaging I felt this small lump, and yes, it was the hooks.Good quality, good weight and was delivered within 3 days(The Linen Depot)with tracking info. Only 4 stars as they have not been up that long so just that degree of caution.

These curtain liners are really good quality, especially for such a low price. They are pretty easy to fit, once you get the knack of it. Just make sure you tie the ends of the threads at one end before you gather them - I forgot to do this on the first curtain and then had to re-thread them with a needle!They block out the light really well, plus my curtains now look and feel really thick and luxurious with the liners in, like expensive hotel curtains.I'm not sure how well they keep the heat in, as it's not that cold out yet, but I mainly got them to block the light so am very happy.

These blackout curtains do actually black out the light. They are easy to fix onto existing pencil pleat curtains. I had to shorten them. Unfortunately they are not washable.

Surprisingly effective blackouts for a great price. Easy to install although if you are a perfectionist you may want to sew and few stiches to the curtains and the blackouts so they don't come apart.

OK quality considering the price. Easy to fit. They do an amazing job of blocking out the light. Be warned, it will be VERY hard to get out of bed in the morning once you've installed these.
