Easy Install, Works Great
The outer rubber covering disintegrated over the years on the factory Yaesu MH48 cable. New cable install:1. Disconnect mic from radio.2. Remove 3 screws on back of mic and open mic case. (Note: screw attaching mic holder nub is different than the other 2.)3. Unseat cable grommet from case bottom.4. Carefully pry cable connector from mic PCB. There is no holding latch on the connector.5. Install new cable connector to PCB.6. Seat cable grommet in case bottom.7. Place PTT lever back in mic that probably fell out in step 2.8. Reassemble case parts, make sure PTT lever functions properly.9. Insert and tighten 3 screws (lightly, receiving threads are in plastic).10. Reconnect mic and test PTT and button operation.Everything works fine now. Hopefully this cable cover is made of something that won’t disintegrate with time. This cable is significantly cheaper than the factory part.

It fit perfectly
The original mic cord peeled and the wires were exposed - didn't expect that from Yaesu. This cord fits perfectly and installs in about 5 minutes.

Great Fix - Easy To Replace
The only reason I didn't go five stars on this is the rubber is not quite as nice as the original Yeasu. We'll see how it holds up during the warm Georgia Summer, but it was about the same length, and very easy to install. Great value.

Very simple install
Easy install and works great, two screws, pop open the mic, disconnect the 5wire plug and remove. The new plug only fits one way so reassemble and fit the base back into the mic case and snap together. Easy. Tested and works great. I did not opt for the cheaper version.

Perfect FT-7900R mix cable replacement
Easy install, remove three screws from the backside of the mic, gently remove the connector, replace with the new one and route the wire harness so as not to pinch it when you reinstall the back cover. And take care to align the PTT button posts when reinstalling the back cover. Install the screws, that’s it!

Better than original
Works very well as a replacement on my FT8800R mic, the MH-48. The cable jacket is thicker and more sturdy than the original. Nice audio reports.
