Very firm foam. Too firm for lumbar support. Also check out the pictures ob the black backing material which is some kind of semi-rigid plastic. This might be good to stop it slipping on a hard floor, but not for furniture

It’s smaller than expected , it could be higher being that it barely rest your feet how low it is to the ground but it’s soft .
