Feels good in the hand, great selection, cool case
The package also said the roll could be propped up so you can pull brushes more easily as you work and it does in fact set up pretty easily like that, I didn’t see that in the listing and I’m not sure I’ll use it for that much since I usually pull out what I need for a class or project but it’s very cool. The case is nice, well lined, the fan brushes were placed along a fold for shipping so I’ve put them in with the widest brushes, they fit in those pockets, for flattening and it has worked a bit so far. I’ve used these for multiple watercolors over the past month and have been very impressed. I’m a beginner but I’ve already bought a few (maybe to other people cheap brushes but to me over $5 for one brush is a bit painful to the budget) brushes and had some from art class supply kits (fairly impressive now that I know, I dropped the classes - sigh) and some super cheap box store sets - and these feel like a great deal. They’re not super fancy (I guess) they’re simple, they feel good to hold, are easy to use, I’m able to try art and not frustrated by my brushes and I’m having fun. (I bought an $8 brush online and honestly hate the way it feels in my hand, feels cheap and these are such a lovely contrast). I’m still getting used to the different shapes, like using a filbert on a flat surface is pretty new to me. The sponge brush went to my dad for his Cornhole board making since he mows through those, and he said it is ok, better than the super cheapie ones but will probably be done after a couple board sets, which is farther than usual. The palette knife is pretty nice, I’m still mostly used to those from home Reno stuff, I have the cheapest and I’ve bought a pretty nice one because I wanted a specific shape, this one is on the nicer end of things, I expect it to last and last. These clean easily and have yet to stain, they hold their shape well, no shedding yet and a few brushes have really become an every project brush. Absolutely pleased with this set, would highly recommend as a gift or for yourself. They allow me to lay down color exactly as I’d like to, I’m enjoying painting and that’s what matters to me.

Artist Approved, again!
Functionally comfortable enough in the hand. My one concern is shedding bristles, something that is all too common with cheaper brushes, but even then, it isn't hard to deal with if they do shed. The variety of brushes in this set is pretty good. I have paint brushes that are 40-50$ each, some that were a few bucks, point being - I have expensive brushes all the way down the line through to super-cheap, and I use them all, price-point isn't all there is to brushes (although it is a pretty good indicator of quality). Having shifted to oil painting (almost) exclusively means working with more "caustic" materials all the time, and that's what is hardest on bristles and the adhesives used, mineral spirits and drying oils can often destroy the adhesives, then its junk - shedding is the worst outcome from any brush. I'm confident these aren't going to 'crap-out' any time soon, if I'm wrong trust that this review will get edited to suit.

Varied Selection of Paint Brushes for Art Use
I am not a commercial artist, but I do have a college minor in art and have taught some high school art classes, so I have some experience with paint brushes. For the price, this is a nice varied set of artist paint brushes that includes flat, angular, wide, liner, fan, and filbert types of paint brushes. The bristles are fairly dense, the handles are wood, the round brushes include a protective sleeve, and it is a large enough selection to explore the effects that different types of brushes can produce. (Oops, one of the fan brushes was insert in a slot in the fold of the roll-up canvas and arrived with a dent/separation that I haven't been able to rectify.) The bristles are nylon which make them very suitable for painting with acrylic paints (natural hair bristles are not well suited for acrylics as they can decay from continual use with water). This set would make a great gift for any budding artist, crafter, or casual artist.

Excellent Set of Brushes
I am not even close to an artist and know very little about what makes a high quality or professional quality paint brush, but I do know that the brushes you get from Harbor Freight paying 3 dollars for 5 only last through 1 project and these new brushes are still going strong after 4 completed projects makes me think it has to do with how long you can continue to use the brush before it begins to lose bristles. I have only used about 4 of the 26 brushes as I really don't know what the different tips are best for. I chose by the size of what I am painting. If it's tiny lines it calls for a sharp tipped brush. I don't know if I will ever have need of the pallet knife but it's a nice addition and maybe if I start using Acrylic paints I might find it useful. This set has so many choices I do hope that it allows me to stretch my artistic legs and try something new.

Good Student Level Brushes
This is a good set for student/casual painters. There is a variety of shapes and sizes of brush to enable different techniques and the carrying case is both attractive and practical, being plastic lined so that wet brushes don't soak onto the fabric and then dry into warped shapes. The brushes also, for the most part, were in good condition, with a slight coating to stiffen the bristles in order to keep them in shape during transit. The one exception was a fan brush that was right on a fold. The fan brushes were not coated and the one on the fold of the case was permanently misshapen by being bent when the case was bent. This is not optimal but there is another slightly smaller fan brush that is still in good shape and this isn't a shape that, for me, will be in heavy rotation.

Great variety for the price
What you get for your money with this set is great. A wide variety of brushes along with a nice travel roll. These are not top of the line brushes, there is going to be stray hair, but st least they don't have gross painted handles that flake paint chips everywhere. Fan brushes came bent from being put in pockets along the fold of the roll but im sure they will flatten with use. I think this is a great starter set to get a feel for different brush shapes and find out what shapes/sizes you want to invest in better quality. And in the meantime, you will get lots of use from these. I have not tried these with watercolor yet so I have no idea how good the water retention/flow is.
