This item is suitable not only for rats but also for chinchillas ferrets and small guinea pigs. it is made from high quality material and is semi rigid because the sides and base are partially padded with foam. it can therefore either hang up or be used freestanding on the floor.
Measurements: this item measures 30cm (12") deep x 20cm (8") high x 18cm (7") wide.
It will comfortably fit 2 ferrets or 5+ rats.

Cozy nest for 2 or more rats
Great for rats - but it didn't last long. My 2 girls took to it instantly and have made it their main base in a cage full of hammocks and shelves. Unfortunately they also started pulling it apart as soon as they got inside, creating a huge pile of shredded foam on the floor of the cage and enjoying themselves immensely. I think I might manage to get a few washes out of it before the rats chew so many holes in it it they start falling out, but until then, they're loving it. Nothing wrong with the quality of the item, it's just the nature of rodents to chew and chew and make edits to any nest they're provided with. It's really warm and cozy for them and there's loads of room, my 2 small girls snuggle up together and I'm sure it would fit 4 adults who like to pile up. I think the entrance hole is about the right size, they can look out and keep an eye on me but they also feel safe and private.*Edit*We're onto our second or third one of these igloos now and I'm still happy with the product. The rat jumped in and started shredding the latest one immediately, see photo of some of the foam she pulled out. But I'm sure it will last and keep her warm for a few weeks.

Explosion!
I was really impressed with this item when it arrived. It looked great and was easy to hang in the cage. I have two big male rats and they both fit comfortably inside without having to sleep ontop of each other.However...Within a week my two ratties had completely shredded out all of the foam that holds the shape and the cage was covered in foam. I couldn't believe the mess!Since the first week however, they love it even more! They now lounge on the top as well as inside and have customised it so that there are three holes to get in and out of.I would have given 5 stars because my rats have enjoyed it so much but within a month they completely distroyed it beyond repair. Money well spent for how much they loved it though! A month is quite good for them! haha.

Well....they had fun with it anyway!
This seemed the perfect solution to keeping my 3 young female rats warm on cold winter days, particularly the hairless one. Sadly within 5 minutes of being suspended in the cage the interior lining on the back wall was ripped. By morning 2 walls were ripped open and the cage was covered in the foam stuffing. Within a month it was utterly shredded and unusable. They never actually slept inside it but having removed the stuffing from the roof they did make a nice open nest on top of it, until it collapsed completely.From the owners perspective I would have gone for 1 star but to be fair the girls did love and use it, albeit not for the intended purpose, and would probably opt for 5. 3 seems a fair compromise. And to be fair to the manufacturer the rat gang that got their teeth into it were only 3 months old and still very curious and destructive. For older, calmer rats this may possibly last longer and actually serve the purpose it was designed for.If it was cheaper i would try it again in the future.

Its okay
It was in the cage for one night and one of the ropes fell off, my rats have already taken a liking to it and have chewed a hole into the side. Overall my rats love it but the quality is a little shabby.

Ferret Favourite
My ferrets love it. They have had it a month now and it looks like new: despite sleeping on it, in it, using it as a base from where they ambush each other and generally treating it rough. They quickly abandoned all other sleeping spots and this is now the centre of their sleeping and playing worlds. Compared to other ferret hammocks and tunnels I have had this is very well made and looks like it's going to last a couple of years at least; it's certainly one of the better - possibly the best - ferret item I've purchased. It is definitely the ferrets' favourite.18 months on: Washed a few times, still looks good, still ferret favourite.

Have bought this type of product before as ideal for single ferret or two small ones and nice and cosy for them. Don't hang them up as used in a hutch mostly.

I got this item as I bought a new cage which was larger, my pet took 2 days 2 get in it lol, wen he did he went straight 2 sleep and looked very comfortable, he was in all the time, I bought a second one as needed 2 wash the one in his cage, he went straight in2 the new one n slept 4 hrs wud recommend this item as it was fast delivery n gud packaging, thank-u
