This product works pretty well. I will say that it does do what it's supposed to do. It's easy to use, it heats very fast (it heats to 450F in basically 2 minutes or less), and it doesn't burn your scalp when you brush properly.I brush my hair with a regular brush and put in some oils before I use the FemJolie. I then use the FemJolie to further straighten my hair. As a tip, for best straightening, only use sections of hair maybe 2-3 inches in width and straighten each section. If you still want some wave in your hair, you can part your hair into 4-5 sections and go over each section a few times. It really depends on the texture of hair as to how many times you need to brush each section.I have noticed my hair looks silkier and less "broomish" when I use this product rather than a flat iron, which is also another plus.The major drawback is that about half of the brush tips have fallen off after 5-6 uses. I can still use the brush but it does make me wonder if the lack of brush tips could actually pull out hair. People that need to straighten their hair (especially the very curly-headed or wavy-haired) need tougher brush tips so that the brush can straighten the hair.Edit: I've given this product 5 stars now. After writing the review and feeling concerned about the brush, I received another one as a complimentary item. The owner of the company helped give me some tips and explained to me the length of time to keep the brush on heat. Basically my hair type requires me to use higher heat for longer periods of time to achieve the straightness I want.I tried the new brush after I received it today (and it came in 2 days!!), and so far so good. I didn't try to brush really hard through my hair, I just let the brush rest on my hair to give it heat for a few seconds at least before brushing through it. No tips were broken in the process!I will say the brush might be better for some hair types than others, but it really does do what it's supposed to do. I also want to mention to anyone still trying to decide whether to buy: this company has some of the best customer service I've ever dealt with. They look out for all their customers and want everyone to be pleased with the product.I hope they continue to develop more products like this for curly and thicker haired people, but for now I am very satisfied. A++!!!!

I would have given this product a 10 star rating if I could because I loved it so much, but then the drama began. Like most woman I got tired if using a flat iron to straighten my hair. I did my research and found this FemJolie straightener to have the best feedback so my sister got me one for Christmas. I immediately fell in love with it. I have curly hair that is difficult to straighten and blow drying everyday was damaging my hair. This brush allowed me to air dry my hair and then straighten it. I was so excited at the ease of the brush, the amount of time to do my hair was cut in half, and my hair kept it's style longer. I didn't have to use the brush every day because it worked so well and couldn't imagine being without my straightener. I would sacrifice my make-up before giving up this straightener!NOW the down fall. I did notice that the straightener would smoke once in awhile, but loving the product I looked past that issue. The real issue came this week when I was done styling my hair one day. I noticed about 3 orange plastic balls were missing from the bristles of the brush. Tried to put them back on, failed. Next day the same thing happened but now 4 fell out, in addition to the 3 that were already missing. I found some of them, but still am missing a few.This has greatly affected the way the brush works and now I have kinks in my hair. I'm afraid to use it anymore for fear that even more orange balls will fall off the brush.Sadly I have had to go back to my flat iron and am looking for another brand of brush straightener that won't have that problem, yet still work as well. I don't want to spend another $63.00 on a straightener that will fall apart in 2 months. I read that other people had problems with the quality of product too. So sad and disappointed ! Wonderful product when it was intact.Ok updating my review from last night.I just tried using my brush again this morning because I was desperate and hoped that no more of the orange balls would fall off. They did!!! I read more reviews and it seems like these brushes start to fall apart after 2 months. Since my sister bought it for me as a gift im not sure if thats why im having difficulty getting a hold of someone. Very disappointed and I can't find a contact number for the company. Can anyone help me with that??

No power to unit. Such a disappointment. Returned product. However, after the owner read my initial product review, she contacted me and asked if I would except a complimentary replacement brush as an apology for the experience I had encountered with the defective brush. I agreed to try the complimentary brush again and promptly received the replacement brush 2 days later. Since then, I have not had any problems with the new brush. It works well, heats up fast, and does a nice job of straightening my long hair while still leaving some body to the hair. My hair is also thin, but I haven't experienced any damage. I have noticed the texture of my hair is a little dry after using the brush. The owner had suggested I use a little Argan Oil and that does seem to resolve that issue. The only other issue is the location of the power on switch. It can get in the way while using the brush, but after using it a couple of times, you learn how to work around it. With that being said, my overall rating is still high. I like the brush and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fast touch up to their frizzy or curly hair. It really does work.....Much better than a straight iron.

So my wife bought one of these types of brushes at a trade show and paid a lot of money for it, however after three months it broke and even though it said lifetime warranty the company wouldn't honor it. So we went on amazon and found her this one, almost a year later and it is still working very well and we have had no issues. Sometimes just because you pay more doesnt mean its better.

I'm totaly in love with my new hair brush. It was my Christmas gift. I have the kind of hair who are not curly and not straight... Jut a big bundle of hairs that I only have the choice to make in pony tail because I can't let them like that lol. I always dislike the normal hair straightener plate because it's too long for me. This new brush save my life, really!!! It take only 5 minutes and all my hairs are straight. I'm very happy of my Christmas gift! You can choose the temperature, I choose the higher. It come with a glove probably because the hairs can be hot because the brush don't come hot. I recommend this product.______________Je suis totalement en amour avec ma nouvelle brosse à cheveux chauffante! C'était mon cadeau de Noel. J'ai le genre de cheveux qui n'est pas totalement frisé n'y droit. Juste un amas de cheveux que je n'ai pas le choix de mettre en queue de cheval parce que je ne peux pas les laisser rebelles comme ça lol!!! J'ai toujours détesté les plaques chauffante parce que c'est beaucoup trop long pour moi. Cette nouvelle brosse est vraiment parfaite, elle a sauvé ma vie, vraiment!! hihi! Ça prend seulement 5 mintues et tous mes cheveux sont droits! Je suis vraiment contente de mon cadeau de Noel. On peut choisir la température, moi je le met au plus haut. Ça vient aussi avec un gant, surement parce que les cheveux viennent chaud, car la brosse elle ne devient pas chaude. Je recommande vraiment ce produit!

Awesome! I was skeptical and did lots of reviews of all sorts of brushes and such. This looked like the best choice. So glad I got it!! It is amazing. Straightens my hair in such a short time. I use it just like a brush but slower. I have naturally frizzy hair which I have always hated. Tried all sorts of over the counter products but nothing worked and a straightener was so time consuming. Not with this it is so fast and the results are amazing. My new favorite!!! I love my straight hair now. I do not use the glove that it comes with at all as handle is not hot.As other reviews said just make sure you use a heat protectant first as it gets really hot. You will not be disappointed!

By far one of the best hair straightening products... goodbye.. conventional irons.. this is so much easier too use and ideal for working women like me especially. Get manageable, good looking hair in a matter of minutes!! Thank you :-))))

Seems to work just fine. Recipient has very thick hair so it will still take some work to get the desired straight look, but brush seems to work just fine.
