Senville Wired Thermostat for Mini Split Air Conditioners

Works fine in manual I which will be like normal thermostat to program

I am using (2) Thermostats to control (2) 2 ton split units in our shop. The build in Thermostats in the Split Units did not control the room temperature accurately because our Units are mounted 10ft from the ground, so the Split units either over-cooled or under-heated the room. These Thermostats solved our problem, because they have their own sensor and use it when the "Follow me" is activated. We mounted the Thermostats at working height and they keep the shop temperature accurately at the set temperature.P.S. Before we bought these, we tried (2) so called "Smart Temperature Controllers" but they did not solve the problem, because their build in sensor is just for tracking the Temperature (fancy gadget) but did not utilize it to actually control the Split units. (IMO, I could not find anything smart on the "smart controllers", they were just fancy gadgets, so you see on your phone that the room Temperature is off, but they did nothing to correct it.)

Bought this product hoping it would at like a normal thermostat, Complete waste of my money and time installing the wiring for it. It doesn't show the actual programming on the unit if you change temperature via IR remote the wall mounted Thermostat ignores the new settings. These Mini split companies need to learn something from Honeywell. When I do this again I'm gonna buy a standard split system, Using a Honeywell thermostat that I can connect to via network.

I bought a house that has a Senville system installed in the attic with a wired thermostat in the upstairs hallway. The system works fine. Turn it on, and it puts out heat. But it wouldn't turn off. No matter what I tried setting the "set temp" to, it wouldn't turn off. Spent a while tinkering with everything in the thermostat, pulled the thermometer out reseated it to make sure that was not the issue. Went into the attic and played with the controls up there. Nothing. Called an HVAC company for help, they charged me $150 and offered to call Senville tech support for additional $350. I declined.After reading every owner's and installation manual I could find, I got to thinking, that maybe, the thermometer is working fine, it is just using the wrong one. It is using the one in the attic and not the one on the thermostat.Went to the attic and lit a candle under the control and sure enough, it turned off.I remembered seeing something in the manual for a different system that there is a button called "Follow Me" on the remote. Pressing it tells the system to use the temp at the remote, rather than the unit. The wire remote has this button, too, and thought that it made no sense as it doesn't move. So I press it...... and sure enough that did the trick.Dumb label. System works fine.

Excellent product for Senville units. Easy to mount and no longer have to worry about line of sight with the wireless IR remote. The only issue that may come up is the length of the wire provided. It is long enough for my application, but if you want your thermostat to be further than approx 15 feet away, such as all the way across a room, then you will need to figure out how you want to extend the harness yourself.
