ChampionCutting Tool Brute Platinum Car/Maintenance Reamer: SA80-3/4

This taper is very shallow, its hard to measure due to the flutes, but it seems less than 5 degrees. Also, the tapering is not the same throughout the cutting surface. About 1" before the built in over-travel stop, the taper stops and it maintains its max diameter for that inch. This makes it hard to judge when to stop cutting the hole since you can end up just drilling a non-tapered hole if you go to far..

This product reamed a hole as advertised on the box. This was done on steering knuckles and pitman arm for a Jeep Wrangler.Issue, with plenty of oil this bit barely survived the three holes. If I needed this for more than one project I would have given even lower rating.I have not used other reamer bits so I don't have an apples to apples comparison, but I expected to be able to use this again in the future.

Sized by max diameter, so don’t buy a 5/8 if you want to ream out 5/8 holes.

Worked really well to ream out some steering knuckles and a pitman arm.

I needed to ream out 1/2-inch holes in 4-1/2" oil field casing to get bolts through it. This tool worked very well and does not appear to have been dulled at all. I've used cheaper reamers before and they didn't work nearly as well--usually dulled before I finished the job; this one didn't. Worth the price.

Works well on 1/8" and 16 gauge mild steel. Will likely purchase additional sizes.

Did the job that I needed it for. Now I will probably gift it to someone else that needs it.If you need to drill out your steering knuckles it does that.It served it's purpose.

Worked perfectly. Made a job that I thought was going to be difficult really easy and took no time at all. Remmer looks perfect after remming out 2 spindles and a pitman arm.
