Put simply this printer is top notch and great value for money
This is our second Qidi tech printer we already own the excellent Qidi X pro.The X maker is a little smaller than the X pro with a smaller print volume and a single nozzle Extruder rather than a dual extruder found on the X pro.The print quality does not disappoint it’s every bit as good as it’s bigger brother and in some ways found it Easier and less difficult to set up.love the internal camera and the dual filament location option which is convenient and well thought out.Software wise you get two slicers on the usb stick : education version and the professional versions , so all age groups & skill levels are covered. Also a Good level of accessories and tools are included to get you goingThe printer was easy to set up & the WiFi / break point printing works a treat when needing to stop a print then resume later also was quite amazed how quiet it is when in full flow. All in all we’re Very happy with this printer performance so far and it looks and feels well builtconclusion : It’s a great feature packed printer for a very reasonable price and would totally recommend this to anyone looking to get into 3D printing young or old.

A fab printer with super customer service
I purchased the X-Maker about 6 months ago. It was my first 3D printer so I came to it as a noob although I'd undertaken much research before hand. A couple of things led me towards Qidi - first of all the print quality for the cost seemed good; second, and most important, was that people were very positive about the customer support. The main downsides are that the print bed isn't as big as some other printers and it isn't cheap. Another factor to consider is that the many printers require assembling - this one took about 10 minutes and had no "scary" moments.I am pleased to say that my experiences have validated my choice. Print quality is good - sometimes you need to tweak the settings and do a bit of research but that is all part of learning about 3D printing. In the last few months I have printed hundreds of face shields and it has been consistently reliable and given good quality output. It comes bundled with it's own "slicer" software. In fact there are two versions:- An educational edition which is targeted at schools/kiddies and protects the user from most of the settings. Any settings you do choose are clearly explained with pictures to illustrate what they do.- A standard/expert edition which seems to be based on Cura print. I'm still learning how to use this but it seems to give you much more control to refine (or mess up your prints). It would have been beneficial to include a manual this. What you don't get is any 3D design software. There are a number of free/cheap packages out there to get you started though. Alternatively, there are lots of 3d models you can download and print directly.Along the way I've had a couple of problems that I couldn't fix myself. A couple of days after arrival it stopped printing properly with the extruder unit moving in unusual way. A quick email to Qidi got a very prompt response (thanks May) explaining that it was probably part of the wiring loom that had come loose in shipping and the first test print had sent it over the edge. She sent a video showing how to fix it (unplug and replug a couple of wires) and all was good. I was even offered a small refund as well!More recently the nozzle became clogged - they are consumable items on 3d printers - and I wasn't too sure how to swap it over. Once again, May to the rescue with a really clear video received in under 24 hours.I was wondering whether they should make these videos available online but perhaps the process of people having to ask about these issues provides them with a way to monitor the reliability of their printers...Overall, a good first printer and I would probably purchase another Qidi if the need arises. Yes, there are cheaper printers out there but for me the quality and the customer service were more important than saving a few pounds.

2 week review, 5 stars
This is my 3rd 3D printer. The first 2 were returned to Amazon as faulty, and at the time of writing I still haven't received the refund for the second; we are at 12 working days and counting. That said these 2 printers were NOT by QIDI. Here is my story...The first 2 printers were by a brand I won't name, but I will say it starts with Cr and reminds me of the word reality. The model names will be disguised for their protection.Bender 5. I had issues with a warped bed, I thought an easy solution would be to order the official glass bed, but it turns out that was warped as well. I had a friend of mine (3D printer expert) come round with a dial gauge and check the bed, it was a complete mess. The printer was retuned. The second one was a CR20-Bro (with a P, wink wink) I hoped to be an upgrade, and I wrongly assumed that the presence of a BL touch would help out. I was wrong. Again, both the base (heated) bed and the glass bed were warped. What is going on at the Reality (cough**) factory with quality control?? Do they think because they are considered market leaders this kind of thing doesn't matter?? I have no clue... As you can imagine this printer went back too. Amazon if you are reading this... where's my money?????After doing an all nighter on YouTube, I ended up opting for this QIDI X-Maker. To be honest nearly all the reviews I had seen about QIDI were based on the Pro, but I liked the look of the X-Maker. I also liked the addition of a build in camera, and the fact it only had one print head (don't need 2).The printer worked straight out of the box. I can print on the entire surface of the bed without issue. I haven't had the dial gauge on this, but I don't feel the need. The included Cura clone isn't the best. You can enable some options in this software to find the start and end gcode. You can then use this in the lastest version of Cura and slice with that. I am now able to print so well with this printer you would think the things I print are moulded! seriously...its that good!!!To load filament, simply heat the nozzle, and push in the filament in a little bit. DONT squeeze the spring loaded feeder. Once you have fed it in a little, using the on screen setup to extrude. Takes about 10 seconds before anything emerges. With the Reality printers I used to use 205 degrees. With this, I find 192 works best.. weird, but try it.If I have any issues or I think of anything else, I will update this review.

Very nice first printer
Started off with an ender 3 then upgraded to this QIDI x maker should have bought the QIDI x maker first ... easy to level and only levelled once so far very reliable and consistent with the prints also prints abs nice due to being fully enclosed or take the magnetic panels off for pla has WiFi but I find that a little clonky as is the camera connection .... if you can afford this make this one your first 3D printer ...... lots of printing will be achieved with very little tinkering and no constant levelling4 stars given just due to the fact the camera and WiFi could be better but they do work
