We purchased 3 of these locks prior to taking a trip so we could secure our bikes while we were away. We woke up one morning to discover someone had attempted to cut off one of the bike locks overnight. They made it thru the outer shell and managed to break a few inside wires, but there was still a solid amount of wire left that they were not able to break thru. We were quite impressed with how well the lock worked! As soon as we returned home, we ordered a replacement lock to have for our next trip.

I DO understand that this lock is simply a deterrent, and could probably be easily cut. But, with that being said, I think it’s a great buy. I live in a nice area and hope that a simple deterrent system will be enough.While I love the color options, I went with the black/grey. I just think it makes it look like a higher quality lock as opposed to a bright, fancy color. Believe me...I wanted pink. 😉I haven’t tried the mount. I think it would be in the way of the step-through. I have a rear bag I store it in, but will mount it if/when needed.It’s easy to use and I wanted a 5-numeral code so when my friends visit and use the bike I can just change it to something they’ll remember: their ZIP code!Should I find that it’s quality and security don’t lead up to my expectations, I will definitely update my review. Until then, and I sure hope I don’t have to, I’m pretty happy with the purchase.

Bike got stolen on the first day of law school no less! From the melting on the rubber, the thieves may have used some kind of power tool, but it still took them less than 5 minutes to steal it from our front carport.

Like it! Just got it and tested and keeping it. Very easy to reset the combo and the cable feels strong and yet flexible. They coil back to its original shape which I like.

This lock was easy to set my own combination, and the clip fit nicely on my bike. The cable slides in easy, but stays locked on very well, no fear in my mind of it falling off. It’s pretty thick cable which would make it at least difficult for the most motivated of criminals to try to cut it, hopefully making them move in to another bike. I recommend this.

This bike lock is an effective deterrent to common bike thieves, though it may not prevent professionals from stealing your bike, as they use bolt cutters to cut through locks like this variety. But for most outings where you're leaving your bike for only an hour or so, especially if in broad daylight, it is plenty secure. I made this mistake many years ago while in school, leaving my bike among many others until the library closed. When I went to retrieve it, I found several cut bike locks strewn around; they may have stolen a dozen or so at the same time. Better to use something bigger and much heavier in those instances - lesson learned!

My son’s bike got stolen the first day using this lock. Can u believe it ?

Mounts to bike with no rattle. Be sure you know the length, meets my needs fine. It would take a major bolt cutter to cut/ steal. Just seeing how thick it is would be a deterrent.
