game changer for towing with my 1/2 ton truck
I have a 2001 F150 and I tow a number trailers. One of which is a heavy travel trailer. I felt like my truck just wasn't heavy duty enough. I started searching for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck and was shocked at the prices. I then researched what could be done to my existing truck to improve the towing situation. I bit the bullet and installed these Airlift suspension bags. What a terrific improvement. Many people are complaining that they want one Schrader valve to adjust air pressure to both bags at once. While I can understand how that is convenient, it is counter intuitive. Think Independent suspension. If both bags air connected together while one is compressed the other will expand thus exaggerating (amplifying) the roll of the vehicle.

Good product, Straight forward installation.
I installed these on a 2009 F150. You don't need to put the truck up on jack stands and remove the wheels like the instructions say. Just grab your flashlight and crawl on under the truck out of the rain. And if its raining hard, bring the instructions under there too, they're hard to read when they get soggy. A jack under the trailer hitch will get you a little more clearance if you're prone to hit your head. Installation was pretty straight forward. You'll need a 6mm allen wrench, and a 7/32" allen wrench. Everything else just takes a 1/2" or 9/16" wrench or socket. A torque wrench would be a good idea too. There was an opening on the inside of the frame right above were the air spring mounts, which I was able to use to route the air line through the frame back to the bumper. The only thing I don't like is that there is only one bolt that holds the upper bracket to the frame. I guess one is enough, I just like a little redundancy. I always thought the Firestone Ride Rites had beefier mounting hardware, but I didn't think they were worth the extra hundred bucks. So I figured I'd give the Air Lifts a try this time. It seems like they're are going to do just fine. I also bought an EPAuto 12 volt compressor from Amazon to air these up with. That's a pretty sweet unit.

Works Great!
This airlift system has been awesome and was easy to install on my 2013 F150. Took me about 2 hours to install. Right now I have a union T fitting connecting the 2 bags and a single line back to the bumper. I installed the schrader valve in an empty space beside the rear license plate. (The license plate light shines on it nicely when having to inflate/deflate at night). I pump them up to around 33psi to level everything out when pulling my camper. Really like the added stability they give the truck also. I may add the onboard compressor later for convinience, but for now a small compressor mounted in the front compartment of my camper works great. My only regret is that i didnt add them to my truck sooner.

2014 F150 Supercrew FX4 install notes and product review
UPDATED 5/9/17Still going strong after a couple years of use. I dont utilize the air bags very often. But those times that i am towing with heavy tongue weight, or hauling something big in the bed, it is very nice to be able to air up and level the truck out. Best solution for airing up i could think of was to install a small 2.5 gallon air tank under the truck and plumb it to a schrader valve on the bumper. Fill the tank before using the bags and u can deflate and refill several times with only the air in the tank. Just make sure there are no leaks. U end up with 2 schrader valves, one for the bags, one for the tank. So i built a small double ended female schrader valve hose that i use to connect the tank to the bags momentarily to fill them. Then just store the hose in the truck. This eliminated the headache of having to install, wire, and plumb a compressor and installing a switch in my dash. Highly recommend going this route if your looking for simplicity. Hope this review helps u..UPDATED 9/11/15I have not had enough time to test function and ride quality with and without a load. I will update this review as time goes on.I installed this kit on my 2014 f150 supercrew FX4. I have to say, I underestimated the difficulty of this install. I am mechanically inclined and know this truck very well, so I believe my opinion here to be of some value to other people attempting this install on the same body style truck..The instructions are decent, but they leave out a couple of things. For example, which holes on the lower plates are supposed to be used to bolt to the bellows. There are 4 holes, 2 round, 2 slotted, you must use one of each on each side. Also, the instructions for bolting the lower plate to the passenger side of the axle is not as clear as it could be..The brackets and hardware supplied are not top quality as far as fit, finish, and strength. One of the button head Allen bolts rounded out while I was tightening to only 30 ft pounds. Luckily it got tight enough, but if I ever have to take that bolt out it will need to be replaced. The lower brackets have studs welded into them on one side so u can bolt an extension to it for later model fords. The back side of those studs were not welded clean and protruded too far off the back of the bracket. I had to grind the metal down and repaint so that it would sit flush against the leaf Springs on the driver side. The one axle strap that is supplied was too thick to fit between the ebrake bracket and the leaf spring u bolt plate underneath the axle on the passenger side. I had to grind significantly and repaint this as well to get it to fit right. One thing I noticed upon completion was that the bellows sit at a different angle on the axle than on the frame. This causes them to pinch down more on one side. This is not a big deal and shouldnt effect function but I question why the top and bottom brackets were not made to mount parallel to each other.Overall, the install was not overly difficult up to this point. It just took some extra time for grinding painting and fitting that I did not expect to have to do on this kit. It took me about 3 hours by myself with all the proper tools just to install brackets and bags. I expect air lines will take another hour. I will update once that part is complete.

Does the Trick - Fairly Easy Installation
I purchased this for my 2009 Ford F-150. I pull a small camper and needed a little support so the rear end didn't sag. This seemed like a good option for a reasonable price.Installation was pretty straight forward. Two thumbs up on the installation manual. It is easy to follow (make sure to read each step and adhere to all notes) and the pictures do a good job to assist in the process. I had to make a slight adjustment on one of the brackets, but I assume that was specific to my truck (not the fault of Air Lift).I just got back from my first trip through the mountains with the Air Lift set-up and it made a world of difference. The truck and camper felt much more planted to the road than before the installation.
