Bestop 1613501 EZ-Fold Soft Tonneau Cover for Ford 99-16 F250/F350, 8' Bed

I purchased this cover to replace my old Lund roll up cover that always let water get into the bed when it rained. I Love the look and fit of this cover. Better looking than any cover I have owned(4). Now for the bad, The first cover came with a broken hinge. Amazon sent me a replacement within 2 days. The 2nd cover came with 3 broken hinges. I called Bestop and they were super cool, promising to send 2 new hinges, 1 for now and one for future breaks. I explained that I read the reviews beforehand and saw where this was a problem but I didn't think it would happen to me, lol. He did say that they know this is a problem and are working on a remedy. I think aluminum would hold up better but I'm not sure how that would affect appearance. The other thing that I would like to see is the clamps changed to aluminum. I know it's only a matter of time before I break these plastic ones. I have decided to keep it and deal with the hinges because of the fact that this cover looks better than anything I have owned. If the hinge breaking is ONLY a shipping problem, perhaps shipping them unattached is the answer. A few extra minutes to pop the pin into each hinge wouldn't be a problem for me.

I had to purchase a replacement for my bed cover due to negligence on my behalf. I was very happy with the Bestop I had installed last September except for the fact it came with one broken hinge. I was able to glue a piece of plastic onto the broken hinge to solve that problem Well, I decided to save some money when I saw that there was a "used, like new" available for a large savings. The top arrived yesterday in a (as described) original box that was resealed. Wow, the contents contained the fabric top with a small tear but for the most part, it was garbage. 3 of the 4 hinges were broken, one of the crossbars was bent and twisted, most of the pieces where the crossbars were to be held in place were broken as well. I was able to salvage some parts from my original top and piece things together but my attempt to repair the hinges was unsuccessfully. Whoever returned this to Amazon should be shot. Now I am hoping that I can either get Amazon or the manufacturer to provide and replace the destroyed hinges. Forget the 3 hours of shop time for the repairs that I have already spent on repairs and the time I will still have to replace hinges. I would just like to get some response from suppliers. Had I not had an immediate need to cover the bed, I would have sent entire box back. I will reconsider "used, like new" items in the future.

I gave it 4 stars cause of one issue I had. The handles did NOT slide back and forth without considerable force. I thought the channels were bent but the plastic "sliders" needed to be worked back and forth so that a groove was cut in to them. Couldn't of done it without some spray chain lube I use on my motorcycle. Took about 20 min and now they slide freely. Havent read anyone else having this issue but sure did happen to me. Otherwise, it works fine and kept everything dry on our cross country trip.

Cover looks nice but one of the foam pads for the rail was glued to the box instead of the rail, pulling it off just took cardboard with it. The amount of force required to "slide" the latches over was a lot to put on plastic pieces.Update:Just like other reviews the hinges fail, upon emailing Bestop with proof of purchase they ordered new ones saying it may take 4 weeks to arrive.

For the price, it's great. If you tow a 5th wheel, absolutely never buy this product. While you can tow while it's folded up, you cannot see the hitch unless you complete remove it from the vehicle. I have an 8' truck bed, but even with the largest bed it gets in the way. Although, when not towing, it increases gas mileage by 20-30% on my F250, which is the same benefit I saw on two previous F150s.

I had high hopes that this tonneau would work for me based on previous reviews. Could not install it. Latch pins were frozen in place. I contacted Bestop support and was told they knew about the problem. Was instructed to lubricate the pins and use a hammer to get them unstuck. Really? Well I did that and it did not help. Honestly I did not hit them too hard with the hammer as I did not want to damage the cover. Cover was returned. Amazon was great in terms of the return process. I ended up purchasing an Access tonneau cover.

Easy, light to handle we love it!

Bought this product for my husband at Christmas time. After the first "light" snowfall of the new year, one of the side hinges snapped. We contacted Amazon and they agreed to send a replacement. The replacement arrived and before my husband got it out of the box he saw that the same side hinge was broken. We have now had 3 new truck covers delivered…each of them has had a broken hinge. We spoke with an Amazon rep over the phone after the 2nd cover was shipped and arrived broken. She claimed they would work on a new way of packaging the cover before shipping it and would contact us before shipping yet another cover (4th). Well, we never received a call, but we did receive truck cover number 4! And…it is broken. My husband then called and spoke with a rep and was told they'd call my husband back with information. It's now been 2 weeks and we haven't heard back.
